There seems to be no end to the redevelopment of older industrial areas of Charlotte. Home to an influx of young urban professionals seeking simpler lifestyles in trendier surroundings, many older industrial sectors of south Charlotte are being rezoned and reinvented as urban enclaves. Even former asphalt plants are fair game.
BOYLE was contracted to provide overall geotechnical, environmental, and earthwork monitoring/ testing to prepare the site for residential redevelopment. Complicated by a foggy past history, BOYLE has assisted in managing complex environmental and geotechnical conditions that required a coordinated effort in testing regimens, regulatory consultations, permitting, reporting, and construction resource management. To keep the big picture in mind and to document complicated site activity and site conditions, in-house aerial photographic documentation was used to monitor the effort, determine deficiencies, and assist with team communications where needed.
